Our philosophy
Women train in every class at the academy — the Women's Program exists in addition, not instead. Led by Professor Natasha Ranasinghe, black belt, No-Gi Worlds champion at purple belt and multi-time World Master and Pan Am medalist.
It gives beginners a room where every training partner is starting from the same place, and gives experienced students rounds with partners of similar size and grip strength.
For many students, a women-only room removes the main hesitation about walking in the door for the first time.
Technique details also land differently when you drill with a partner of similar build — the same reason size-appropriate pairing matters for advanced students, not just beginners.
It's a bridge, not a bubble: students are encouraged into the general Fundamentals and Advanced classes as they progress.

How a session runs
Every session opens with mobility work, moves into technique demonstration and detail, then situational drilling from a defined position — with live rounds always optional and at the intensity you choose.
Every class changed me a little.
No. The class is built for beginners and the professor pairs new students deliberately.
Leggings and a fitted t-shirt or rash guard for the first class. A gi comes later.
Never required. Live rounds are optional and always supervised.
Yes, and we encourage it once you feel settled. Your membership covers the full schedule.
Kids classes run on the same evenings as several adult sessions, so many families train in the same window. Check the schedule for the current overlap.
