Our philosophy
Between ages 4 and 7, children are developing coordination, attention, confidence, self-control, and the ability to work with others. Our Kids Program is designed around this stage of development.
Through age-appropriate Jiu-Jitsu, movement, games, and guided practice, children learn skills on the mat while developing habits that support how they learn, interact, and respond to challenges.
Play is part of how we teach, but every activity has a purpose.
A game may develop balance and coordination, introduce a Jiu-Jitsu concept, encourage problem-solving, or teach children how to work safely with a partner.
Classes are structured to keep children engaged while gradually preparing them for more advanced learning.

How children learn
Children first become comfortable with the environment and learn how to move safely. From there, games introduce Jiu-Jitsu concepts, movements begin to connect, and children gradually learn to apply what they know with a partner.
Student stories

“I started with my two sons age 9 and 11 and they loved it. It looked like they had so much fun that I joined as well. Simply amazing!”

“They have a lot of patience for the young’s ones, great place for kids to learn discipline, and improve their physical health.”

“Not only do they create a clean, safe, friendly environment amongst students here but they really care about each and every individual’s progress and how their treat others, setting a great example.”
Yes. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has no strikes or kicks. There's no punching, no hitting to the head, which is where most injury risk in other martial arts comes from. Techniques are taught step by step, kids are matched by age and size, and the moment a child taps, the round stops right away. It's also one of the few sports where a smaller, lighter kid can train safely with control instead of relying on force. On top of the physical side, it builds real skills like confidence, discipline, focus, resilience, and social skills that carry over well past the mats.
A t-shirt and shorts or leggings without zippers or pockets. A gi (Jiu-Jitsu uniform) will be provided by us so your child can try a class.
No. Jiu-Jitsu has no striking or kicking, so kids aren't learning to hit anyone. What they learn is control: takedowns, pins, and holds used to neutralize a bigger opponent without hurting them. The self-defense side is real, but the bigger change most parents notice is self-control. Kids who feel secure in their own skin usually need to prove less, not more.
To keep up with the pace of our program, we recommend a minimum of 2-3 classes per week. This builds muscle memory, keeps the sequences fresh in their mind, and moves their skills forward. For families who want to speed up the learning curve, or kids who are having a harder time keeping up, we also offer private lessons, which can be discussed directly with our professors.
Yes, and often faster than parents expect. Our professors and coaches work with shy and anxious kids all the time. Most kids who start off quiet come out of their shell within a few weeks, not because we push them, but because the environment helps them feel like they belong and are included in the group. On top of that, techniques are introduced progressively and naturally, so kids never feel overwhelmed.
Our programs are grouped by age, and within each group, coaches pair kids by size and skill level, not just age. That means your child trains with partners who can push them without overpowering them, in a controlled, supervised setting built for their level.
